Terms, Policies and Conditions

CBC programs listed on this site are released for educational and institutional use with the understanding they will not be reproduced, duplicated, transmitted, or re-transmitted, nor will they be shown to audiences where an admission fee is charged.

Standard Public Performance License

Prices listed include a Standard Public Performance License. Under this grant of license, use of the program(s) is restricted to the organization purchasing the program or to situations under the auspices of the organization. Not included in this license is the permission to loan, share with or donate videos to any other organization.

Extended Public Performance License

For an additional fee, an Extended Public Performance License may be purchased to permit loan or sharing with or donation to organizations other than that of the purchasing organization. The fee is a direct reflection of the total exhibition potential of the program(s). If an Extended Public Performance License is required, please contact CBC Learning for a price quote.

Pricing

At CBC, we abide by Canadian copyright law and union collective agreements. These demand that persons involved in a production and owners of intellectual property be compensated for the use of their work. Clearance fees, beyond those paid for broadcast use, must be paid if a production is to be distributed for public performance use. Such costs are reflected in the prices found in this catalogue.

Duplication Rights

Most CBC programs in this website can be duplicated with prior approval of CBC Learning under a separate Limited Duplication Agreement. Please contact CBC Learning for duplication rights details and a price quote.

Formats

Programs are available in DVD, Digital and VHS. All prices listed on this website are for DVD and VHS. If other formats are required, please contact CBC Leanring for pricing.

Closed Captioning

Many of the programs listed here are available in closed captioned versions at no additional cost. To determine if specific programs are available with closed captioning, please contact CBC Learning.

Archive Copies

For an additional fee, the purchasing organization may obtain the license to make one (1) archive copy of a purchased program. The archive copy is not to be used for public performance exhibition unless or until the purchase copy is lost or destroyed. No additional copies of the archive copy can be made without prior written approval of CBC Learning. The archive copy is granted a Standard Public Performance License.

Replacement Copies

If a program is lost or damaged during normal use, a replacement copy may be purchased for 50% off the current list price of the program.

Previews

All programs listed may be previewed before purchase. Requests must be made by an authorized organization delegate. There is no fee for this service, but previews must be returned prepaid. Previews are available in DVD format only.

Rentals

CBC programs are available for purchase only. We do not offer a rental service.

Production years

Program code numbers that appear following each program description contain the last 2 digits of the year of production. For example, the program code for Forget Me Not is Y8Q-97-01. The year of production, therefore, is 1997.

Warranty

CBC Learning guarantees each program will be free from defects at the time of delivery. CBC Learning will replace, without charge, any defective program returned by a customer within 30 days.

Programs deemed unsuitable to your needs may be returned for full credit within 30 days of receipt as long as the programs are in unmarked, resaleable condition. Materials must be returned prepaid with a copy of the original invoice.
