Remembering Vimy Ridge

On Easter Monday 2007, Canadians marked the 90th anniversary of the Battle of
Vimy Ridge. The battle cost the lives of more than 3 000 Canadians but contributed
greatly to Canada’s sense of nationhood. In this News in Review story we’ll
look at the commemoration ceremonies that were held in France and in Canada.
We’ll also look at the renovated monument that dominates the battlefield and why
