Racism: Then and Now

This report examines the UN conference on racism and xenophobia, held in Durban, South Africa, that was marred by controversy and discord over such issues as reparations for slavery and the word- ing of a conference statement accusing Israel of apartheid-like behaviour. Bringing the issue closer to home we also examine the black experience in Nova Scotia and recent calls there for measures to redress historic wrongs.
