About NiR

News in Review is a subscription series of  educational programs hosted by CBC journalist and anchor Carla Robinson, featuring CBC correspondents.

This is teaching media literacy at its best.  You do a fabulous job of putting together a related-information package and discussion questions. Your initial article serves to focus the students onto the video as they view it for the first time. Then the follow-up articles help to develop the depth of the issue.” (Helen A.,  River East Transcona School Division)

News in Review has been designed by teachers for an integrated curriculum and is an effective learning tool for topics including Canadian studies, world studies, history, social science and media literacy.  Each News in Review segment is crafted to give students and teachers a timely and concise examination of Canadian and world issues. Footage from CBC’s archives helps provide historical context. A comprehensive resource guide written by experienced educators supplies background information.
